Who Is Thrivent Financial Insurance Company?
Thrivent Financial has a much different story from any of the other 2019 top 10 Medicare Supplement providers.
The organization started in 1902 with the purpose of providing aid to a group of Lutheran worshipers in Minnesota.
Over the years, the group grew along with the Lutheran Brotherhood into an international charity and aid organization for Lutherans.
In 2014, the organization voted to include all Christians, not just Lutherans and shortened the name from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to Thrivent Financial.
Thrivent Financial is a non-profit organization that is member-owned which is open to all people willing to agree to the following member commitment.

Review Of Thrivent Financial Insurance Medicare Supplement Plans
There are multiple factors that need to be considered when choosing a Medigap plan to cover the costs that Medicare does not.
Keep in mind that all of the Medicare Supplemental Plans are Federally regulated which means the coverage you receive from Thrivent Financial is the same coverage you’d receive from another provider.
Thrivent Financial Insurance Plan F
Thrivent Plan F has been in the news lately because come January 1st, 2020, only people who are eligible for Medicare before that date will be able to purchase the F plan.
Plan F is the most comprehensive supplement plan available covering the 20% of costs that Medicare does not.
This includes paying for your Medicare Part B deductible which is why congress voted to phase the plan out in 2020.
A congressional study found that because Plan F participants did not have to pay any additional money when the went to the doctor which resulted in them going a little too often.
By removing the plans that paid the Medicare Part B deductible, the hope is that Medicare costs will come down a bit from unnecessary doctors visits.
So long as you are eligible for Plan F before January 1st, 2020, you will still be eligible to purchase this plan.
Only people eligible for Medicare after January 2020 will be precluded from purchasing a Plan F supplement.
Thrivent Financial Insurance Medicare Supplement Review Plan G
The next most comprehensive Medicare Supplement option is the Thrivent Financial Plan G.
This plan is identical to Plan F with the exception that you will have to pay your Part B Medicare deductible.
In 2019 the Part B deductible was $185 and many of the Plan G premiums are actually lower than that amount.
