Favorite quote: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” -Vivian Greene
What is something within the healthcare industry you want to fix? It became clear to me that one question always plagued the community,” Will my insurance cover that ?”. After watching people make tough choices about medication or deny medical treatment because of cost, I have made it my mission to educate and empower people about insurance. Through education clients can be sure they have coverage and allows them a peace of mind.
What are your industry credentials? In college, I received my LPN nursing certificate. Working in long term care facilities and later working in the home care setting, I always bonded with my clients and their families. I became a licensed agent after working hand in hand with my clients to ensure the best care possible. Often times a misunderstanding about coverage would prevent treatment or cause stress about affordability. I now strive to make sure that my clients not only feel that they are offered the best possible products but also know the ins and outs of their own policies.
What’s your background? I was born and raised in Maryland. My family, being very close knit, I learned that the world is a much better place when we all help each other. I was blessed to be able to learn from my great- grandparents and grandparents. They taught me that if you are listening closely each moment in life offers you a chance to give, teach or learn.
What values drive you? I believe that hard work and perseverance set a building block for success in life but without compassion for others and patients nothing can be achieved. A strong moral compass guides me in all of my decision making.
What activities do you enjoy doing when not at work? When I am not working, I am usually with my family and children. We enjoy exploring our community which often includes something outdoors. We own a backyard flock of chickens that keep us on our toes. When inside, music from all generations usually fills my home. I own radios, record players, and even a juke box. I often am found enjoying live music. Most importantly, teaching my children how to dance in the rain.
