What is something within the healthcare industry you want to fix? I would like to fix the way mental health is handled specifically in the military and VA hospitals. The leading cause of death in the military is suicide. Not only does the military system make it hard to get diagnoses for veteran’s and active-duty members’ mental health, but they also make it incredibly hard for active-duty members to leave the service early due to mental health. Along with the stigma, misdiagnoses, and discharge problems are an extremely common issue that contributes to such a high suicide rate resulting from PTSD and depression.

What values drive you? The value that drives me is compassion. I am a big believer that you must give compassion because you never know what somebody is going through. Always lend a hand if you can, and be the person to help when you don’t necessarily need to; you’d never know if you were somebody’s last hope.
